We will come to your home and evaluate your existing lawn, soil, and yard. Then we will sit down with you and go over all the options, so you can choose the best sod for your lawn. There are 3 main grass types grown in North Texas. Those 3 types are Bermuda, St. Augustine, and Zoysia.

Bermuda preforms best in full sun and well drained soil. This turf is resistant to heat, salt, and humidity. It can tolerate heavy foot traffic and recovers quickly.

St. Augustine is coarse bladed, warm-season grass that spreads by stolons. It is well-known for its blueish-green color. It can tolerate high temperatures and is very shade resistant.

Zoysia prefers sun, but can tolerate moderate levels of shade. This turf is heat and drought tolerant and requires minimal maintenance and water.

Sod Installation Tips

DIY or Contact Ryno Lawn Care

• Clear the site of any debris, grass, or weeds
• Till the soil
• Level the area
• Add soil amendments
• Moisten soil before laying sod

• Start by laying first pallet against a straight edge
• Place pallets snugly against one another
• Roll out pallets to remove air pockets
• Use a utility knife to trim edges
• Adhere to after-installation care tips

After Sod is Installed:

• First 2 Weeks - Water Daily
• Early mo ing watering is best.
• Minimize foot traffic until the grass has rooted.
• Start mowing after grass reaches 3 inches tall.
• Apply grass fertilizer after 1 month.

If Your New Sod Doesn't Look Like it Matches:

Don't worry, it takes new sod a couple of weeks to look normal.

Make sure your sod has enough water.

Make sure you haven't overwatered your sod.

Your soil levels (NPK) could vary from where the sod was grown.

Keep pets off of sod.
